School of Wild Listening: The Water Project

For the second instalment of the School of Wild Listening the Water Project presents a new audio-visual work entitled Prism, as well as a short overview of their work to date.

In constant negotiation of equilibrium, Water renders perceptible the hidden reality that is all around us through the repeating forms of its waves and ripples, in its innumerable reflections and cycles. It gives us life, and shows us chaos.

The Water Project seeks to develop a deeper understanding of the element through the study of its movements as expressed in sound and light and to facilitate the creation of immersive environmental installations and performances, working in collaboration with artists from across disciplines and borders.

The School of Wild Listening is a platform for the discussion and dissemination of ecological sound art and music. In our current age of ecological disconnection, listening provides a means to explore and cultivate a deeper connection to the world around us. This listening provides a knowledge for initiating cultural change and allows us to pro-actively engage with the biodiversity and climate crisis conversation.
