Sunrise Session at the Magazine Fort, Phoenix Park, Dublin

To celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day 2026, we’re having an impromptu outdoor listening/jam session at the Phoenix Park.

This is a completely unguided open experience: meet at the small carpark by the Magazine Fort (location link in bio) at 5:00am and after that, how you connect is up to you.

Some ideas:

- Find your own place, sit and listen to the unfolding morning
- Go for a walk
- Bring an instrument, and respond to the sounds and others around you
- Bring some field recording equipment and record
- Bring a journal or sketchpad, or any other means of expression you want to use

We’ll gather again back at the carpark around 7:00am. Bring a flask of tea and some breakfast if you like and make sure to wrap up well.

Please note that side entrances to the park may be closed so the main entrances at Parkgate Street and Castleknock Gate should be used to enter Phoenix Park in the early morning.
